Before take-off

I'm counting 10 more hours till I fly out of Manila. Thing is, I haven't really finished packing my stuff, yet I still have time to check emails and blog...hehehe! I'm absolutely living the dangerous life now. =) up:gucci handbags

Heard that temperature in Cincinnati could go below freezing but I didn't pack a lot of winter gear with me. Hello, hypothermia!!! (Waaahhhh!!!)

Anyway, I'm sure the week ahead is expected to be horrendously busy, and for the past couple of weeks I've been freakin' nervous just thinking about our set client meetings. So friends, please pray that I do well... =)

Hello, Moto?

Got my Motorola and gucci bags ROKR iTunes, finally!!!

Full specs available here.

I like the features and the interface is way better than the old unit I lost. Kaso I couldn't figure how to use its iTunes player. I couldn't sync it with my iTunes. Pahirapan...

The Metamorphosis of Sheila And The Insects

Di ako nagkamali, Sheila and the Insects is one great punk rock band!!! Their music reminds me so much of The Cure’s and slightly those of Franz Ferdinand and The Strokes. I somehow got deadbeat of listening to emerging Pinoy bands who luckily made it in the mainstream, so it’s time to listen to fresher music.

My favorite track off their “Flowerfish” CD is “Maude,” which happens to be hauntingly sentimental. “Maybe Only Maybe” is a super song to wake up to. The distorted guitars give a feel of Franz Ferdinand’s music up:gucci bags.

So, grab yourself a copy of Flowerfish and witness the metamorphosis. I witnessed it all for free (pinahiram ng cd ng officemate..hehe!!!)

Busy-busyahan...

The past week just marked the end of Holiday sloth 0506. We were back to reality…a horrid one when I had to start clearing out the clutter from my old international relocation cases before I turn them over to another teammate who shall take on my previous responsibilities.

Work’s been crazy these past few days. I never imagined that the work changeover would be this mentally taxing. There are a number of ad hoc requests for people cost projection reports across all Asian markets by a principal client so you can just imagine how hellish the past days had been for me. All markets needed their reports by end of January, but some required that we provided a partial analysis (…Just tell how could this be achievable when you don’t have all the needed data at hand?) My senior and I are lucky enough that some managers conceded to extend their deadlines after we pushed back.

On top of those, several ongoing Finance issues have been taking away our sanity and after an extensive discussion with the current accounting SPOC, I right away admitted that it would take a supernatural phenomenon to resolve all issues by Tuesday. We’re taking transparent and more constructive steps, though, little by little. My goal is to clean up 50 percent of the recurring issues by mid-Feb, and then work out the rest by mid to end of the next month. up:gucci handbags

I’ve a piece of good news, for myself and very close people at work; in spite of all the negativity we confront at the workplace. I’m set to attend a global meeting by the first week of February in Cinci, Ohio (this is 99 percent sure unless my US visa application gets rejected…wag naman sana!). This is to kick-off a project aimed at getting to the bottom of all the exceptions/findings of the 2005 global audit season by this major client. It was totally unexpected that we didn’t meet their business controls requirements, according to our seniors, so the Global and regional process owners decided to bring together representatives from each region (Americas, EMEA, and Asia) to carry out action plans to remedy these ailments on the aspect of business controls. Two of us from Manila were tasked to share Asia’s perspective. Although challenging, I consider it another grand opportunity to closely work with and learn from global and regional team leads. I worked in this business for a little less than 2 years, and I figured I’m the youngest to qualify for this global endeavor. One big break, indeed!

Now, there (turo sa taas) go my to do’s for the month. I’m contemplating how I can effectively manage my time to meet my targets. Perhaps, I’d forego a fraction of my social happenings to make way for other urgent and important matters. Haay…how I wish I didn’t’ really have to…

Don't Love You No More (I'm Sorry)

I rarely like Pop music these days but we've been humming its melody lately. I was lucky to have rightly guessed the words to the chorus but we wanted to know the rest. So here I decided to post the lyrics for my easy reference. =) I've gone "senti" this weekend...So perfect!!!

Don't Love You No More (I'm Sorry)
Craig David

For all the years that I’ve known you baby
I can’t figure out the reason why lately
you’ve been acting so cold (didn’t you say)
if there’s a problem we should work it out
so why you giving me the cold shoulder now
like you don’t want to talk to me girl (tell me)
okay I know I was late again
I made you mad and dinners thrown in (the bin)
but why you making this thing drag on so long (I wanna know)
I’m sick and tired of this silly games(silly games)
don’t think that I’m the only one here to blame
it’s not me who’s been going round slamming doors

That’s when you turned and said to me
I don’t care babe who’s right or wrong
I just don’t love you no more

Rain outside my window pouring down
what now, you’re gone, my fault, I’m sorry
feeling like a fool cause I let you down
now it’s too late to turn it around
I’m sorry for the tears I’ve made you cry
I guess this time it really is goodbye
you made it clear when you said
I just don’t love you no more

I know that I’ve made a few mistakes
but never thought things would turn out this way
doesn’t make sense to me now that you’re gone (I see it all so clearly)
me at the door with you in a state
giving my reasons but as you look away
I can see a tear roll down your face

That’s when you turned and said to me
I don’t care babe who’s right or wrong
I just don’t love you no more

Rain outside my window pouring down
what now, you’re gone, my fault, I’m sorry
feeling like a fool cos I let you down
now it’s too late to turn it around
I’m sorry for the tears I’ve made you cry
I guess this time it really is goodbye
you made it clear when you said
I just don’t love you no more

Those simple words hit so hard
they turned my whole world upside down
girl you caught me completely off guard
on that night you said to me
I just don’t love you no more up:gucci bags

Rain outside my window pouring down
what now, you’re gone, my fault, I’m sorry
feeling like a fool cos I let you down

I guess this time it really is goodbye
you made it clear when you said
I just don’t love you no more.

=)

Few things to rave about as I welcome the year of the Fire dog (my birth year)…

1. A new role in the team. I’ve taken on a more challenging, and positively, a more fulfilling one! =)
2. My new MP3 house, dance, and downtempo tunes to accompany me during those “gimmickless” nights. I have a treasure chest in iTunes!!! =)
3. A new gym membership at Pinnacle. This could be a downgrade from last year’s Gold’s membership but when you're getting subsidy for it, okay na rin!!! =) up:gucci bags
4. My vacation getaway and other travel prospects. I’ll start saving up for Coron, Bora, or Bohol. Can’t get enough of these summer destinations. =)
5. New business prospects. I keep my toes crossed so these would materialize in the coming months..all we need is time…haay...=)

Carpe Diem!!!

I’ve been a fan of Tickle (used to be Emode.com) ever since Grumble Girl Anj introduced all those fun personality quizzes to moi way back in college. Those were simply the days when I would, at full volume, interject “My flavor is Mocha!” (with last syllable pronounced “cha”) out of Emode’s “What’s Your Flava?” test. So much for the booboos =)...This time I took the “Is Your Life In Drive” test, well…just to test out if mine really is. up:gucci handbags

So Tickle says…

Marlon, your life is in drive when you're Living in the Moment
You don't miss a beat. Not one to try and redo the past or worry about the future, you know that the best way to enjoy life is to pay attention to what's going on around you. A fun and easygoing person, you turn even the dullest events into a memorable adventure. It doesn't hurt that you know how to kick up your heels and have a good time.Passionate and independent, you're not about to be constrained by what others say or think, and you're certainly not afraid to buck the system from time to time. After all, following your heart and trusting your instincts have gotten you this far. Up next? The world!

Can I just say...

Thanks boss (lady in black) for this photo taken from your blemish-minimizing Nokia 6230i camera fone. =) up:gucci bags

Sana ganito lahat ng camera at camera phones...ehehehe! =)

Natural Thinker!!!

Your Brain's Pattern

You have a tempered, reasonable way of thinking.
You tend to take every new idea in, and meld it with your world view.
For you, everything is always changing. Each moment is different.
Your thinking process tends to be very natural - with no beginnings or endings.up:gucci handbags
What Pattern Is Your Brain?

Oh well...

You Have a Melancholic Temperament

Introspective and reflective, you think about everything and anything.
You are a soft-hearted daydreamer. You long for your ideal life.
You love silence and solitude. Everyday life is usually too chaotic for you.

Given enough time alone, it's easy for you to find inner peace. up:gucci handbags
At your worst, you brood and sulk. Your negative thoughts can trap you.
You are reserved and withdrawn. This makes it hard to connect to others.
You tend to over think small things, making decisions difficult.
What Temperment Are You?

Crotch-o-tard in 06???!!!

Your 2005 Song Is

Hung Up by Madonna up:gucci bags

Oooh!!!

Your Personality Is

Rational (NT)

You are both logical and creative. You are full of ideas.
You are so rational that you analyze everything. This drives people a little crazy!

Intelligence is important to you. You always like to be around smart people.
In fact, you're often a little short with people who don't impress you mentally.
up:gucci bags
You seem distant to some - but it's usually because you're deep in thought.
Those who understand you best are fellow Rationals.

In love, you tend to approach things with logic. You seek a compatible mate - who is also very intelligent.

At work, you tend to gravitate toward idea building careers - like programming, medicine, or academia.

With others, you are very honest and direct. People often can't take your criticism well.

As far as your looks go, you're coasting on what you were born with. You think fashion is silly.

On weekends, you spend most of your time thinking, experimenting with new ideas, or learning new things.
