Banana Pancakes
He is
Fria's and
Anj's latest addiction. I certainly love the video of "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing" and what a great way to spend a Saturday evening to just chill as 4 of my most-wanted videos roll on VH1. up:
gucci bagsCheck the latest from
Lifehouse (forgot the title of the song), "Daughters" by
John Mayer, "Sleep With Butterflies" by
Tori Amos, and oh yeah,"Sitting, Waiting, Wishing" by Jack Johnson.
So this post pays tribute to my friends who love Banana Pancakes on an easy Sunday morning...
"Banana Pancakes" By Jack Johnson
Cant you see that its just raining
Aint no need to go outside...
But Baby, You hardly even notice
When I try to show you this
Song is meant to keep ya
From doing what your supposed to
Waking up too early
Maybe we can sleep in
Ill make you banana pancakes
Pretend like its the weekend now
And we can pretend it all the time
Cant you see that its just raining
Aint no need to go outside
Just maybe, like and ukelele
Mommy made a baby
Really dont mind the breakfast
Cause your my little lady
Lady lady love me
Cause I love to lay here lazy
We could close the curtains
Pretend like there's no work outside
And we can pretend it all the time
Cant you see that its just raining
Aint no need to go outside
Aint no need aint no need Mmmm MMmmm
Cant you see cant you see
Rain all day
And I dont mind.
The telephone is singing
Ringing its too early
Don't pick it up
We don't need to we got everything
We need right here
And everything we need is enough
Just so easy
When the whole world fits inside of your arms
Don't really need to pay attention to the alarm
Wake up slow, yeah wake up slow
You hardly even notice
When I try to show you this
Song is meant to keep ya
From doing what your supposed to
Waking up too early
Maybe we can sleep in
Ill make you banana pancakes
Pretend like its the weekend now
And we can pretend it all the time
Cant you see that its just raining
Aint no need to go outside
Cant you see cant you see,
You gotta wake up slow
The Sun In Aries
I don't usually believe in these readings, but I find this kind of interesting to relate it to my ways of making life's choices. I'm content reading the partial report, though. Special thanks to the Kabbalah Master. lolz! up:gucci handbagsSun in Aries:
The truth that each of us is essentially alone and that we must ultimately answer to ourselves regarding our choices in life is one that resonates deeply within you. Thus, Marlon John, your first loyalty is to yourself and to living your own life as authentically as possible. When you are most yourself, you are a risk taker, a trailblazer, forging your own path rather than following anyone else's lead. Whether or not you have the courage to do so, to boldly assert yourself and follow your own star - standing alone when necessary - is crucial to fulfilling your life purpose.
There are many ways, both positive and negative, you could choose to express this core sense of singleness and this need to be an original or a pioneer. You may, for instance, simply choose to remain single. Your independence, autonomy, and freedom are very important to you, and at heart you really do not want to be distracted from your purposes or encumbered by the responsibilities and complications that accompany close, ongoing partnership with others. You are by nature a solo. This does not necessarily mean that you will avoid intimate relationships or commitments, but there must be some arena in you life where you are the chief, where you take initiative and make the decisions. Being a sole proprietor of an upstart business enterprise, free lancing, supporting yourself with as little external input as possible - they are all possible expressions of your inner drive to live life on your own terms, by your own inner creativity and dictates. If you do not feel you are your own boss, Marlon John, you simply will not be happy. Your lifestyle and work must reflect your strong impulses to be self-reliant as well as to create something NEW, in order for you to be in harmony.
AI Madness...
This really was. There wasn't a single episode that I got to watch AI in full. So I made sure that I'd do on the last two shows of the season when Carrie and Bo battled it out for the title. I was a bit disappointed, though, on their performances maybe because it was rather clear that both of them were very uneasy performing on an extraordinarily big stage and before a really big crowd. Still, I was happy with the overall production and finals results. Anybody could win, but Carrie simply earned more nods for the vocal dynamics, great showmanship, and fervent appeal. For this, the country girl from Oklahoma will definitely sell records. up:

Last night, my sister and I were channel surfing in between commercial breaks when we gave the remote control a few minute rest to take a closer look at F's makeover mission. up:

On the road to the finals
People know that I don't get to watch much TV because I usually come home really late after one long hectic day at work. So I'd have to ask kith and kin on what's the latest boob-tube craze. up:
gucci bagsI don't get to watch the series even, but I usually catch up by logging on to watchidol.com or by just reading rants or raves of some AI fanatic's blog. I don't have one pick. They are my favorite male and female contenders of this batch. So it would hurt to see anyone of them go. hehe! I promise to stop working by 7 pm Wednesday and Thursday, so I'd come home to watch at least the replay telecast. =)
Ang sarap magbabad
And I did it again! Nothing beats a relaxing day at the beach. Finally, I braved to kayak over the not so explored cove at the far side of the beach. It was an achievement! The sun was scorching, but I was grateful it didn't rain. We are witnesses to a perfect weather to just enjoy the sand and the waters.up:

From Kobe With Love...
And we're back in Manila. I spent a great week in Japan even if for a couple of days I had mentally draining face-to-face meetings with certain clients. So kwento, kwento...
So yun na nga..we arrived there May 9th around 9:30 PM (Japan time). The Kansai Airport in Osaka was durprisingly very quiet, far from my previous notion that it was very busy and packed out. So after some immigration and customs inspection (thank God the 40 or so packs of dried mangoes were not held at the Customs office. hehe! =)), we hurriedly went out to board the limo bus on the way to the Kobe Sheraton. We couldn't afford to miss the last trip to Rokko Island/Sannomiya because it would cost us around JPY 12,000 to hail a cab from the airport to the hotel. (Man, I could buy 3 pairs of Gola shoes with it!!!) It took us about an hour to reach the hotel. Of course, we were acting first world citizens in spite of our amazement of everything Japan! =) hahahaha!
It was 11 pm when we arrived. As soon as we boarded off the bus, we were even more stunned that Rokko Island (a reclamation island located in the southeast region of the Kobe Bay port ) is even more tranquil in spite of its very commercial landscape. It took a couple of hours of settling-in, after which I had a restful slumber. =) up:gucci bags
We surely made the most out of the business trip. Probably 3-4 hours of the entire duration of the market visit was devoted to checking emails, and the rest would be driving around Kobe City for house and school visits, city orientation, and a lot of swining out for those lipsmacking Japanese food!(I could imagine the number of urgent and important email messages by the time I'd access my Notes Inbox.) And oh, not to forget the hectic days allotted for meetings with clients and partners. I had mentally exhausting conferences to resolve issues, but it was also a great consolation to finally meet my clients whom I've assisted in their and their family's move to Japan.
We were on our own by the time we checked out of the hotel Saturday morning and transported ourselves to the very traditional Kyoto. The Kiyomizu-Dera is one of my favorite places on earth. Gion, one of Kyoto's most popular districts are home to the Maiko (apprentice) and the Geiko...the characters of whom I am very much bewildered by. =) Ah basta, I have more stories to tell...

It's About TIme
A work colleague gave me Jamie Cullum's "Twentysomething" CD as a present for the traditional Kris Kringle. I've had all the songs in my Windows Media playlist since last Christmas, but it was only last night when I was "remotely working" that (after hearing the words) realized that I so love this cut. Perfect, perfect song to describe my relationship prospects, (may be) hehe! =) Pardon friends for my being so cheesy. Alright, so here are the lyrics...
"It's About Time"Jamie Cullum
up:gucci handbags
Walking down to the water's edge
Where I have been before
If I don't gind my love sometime
I'm walking out that door
Some may come and some may go
But no-one seems to be
The person I've been searching for
The one whose meant for me
Biding my time, trying to find a heart that's lonely
Looking for her, my love my one and only
Maybe I'll dream, tonight about the girl who'll be coming my way
So I'll take this chance and celebrate the day
When I'm making my way through an open door
I've got some love and so much more
And I"m ready to make someone mine
Making my way through an open door
I've got some love and so much more
And I'll find her, 'cos it's about time
You try too hard and it feels just like
You're running on thin air
Why does luck happen by suprise
If you don't really care
The past is gone the flames are out
From fires that have burned
New ideals and different thoughts
From lessons I have learned
Biding my time, trying to find a heart that's lonely
Looking for her, my love my one and only
Maybe I'll dream, tonight about the girl who'll be coming my way
So I'll take this chance and celebrate the day
When I'm making my way through an open door
I've got some love and so much more
And I"m ready to make someone mine
Making my way through an open door
I've got some love and so much more
And I'll find her, 'cos it's about time
Got the feeling this could take a pretty long while
To find that smile
Put my faith in another piece of good advice
Well I tried that twice
Waiting for, a little something more
To inspire, take me higher
And I"m ready to make someone mine
Making my way through an open door
I've got some love and so much more
And I'll find her, 'cos it's about time
It's about time

I took part at the 1st Philippine Blog Summit organized by the UP Law and Internet Society Program today.
Galeng! I learned so much from it, and it was great to meet a lot of familiar names in the Blogosphere (
Tama ba?) hehe! =) Also, it was really interesting to hear from the
Sassy Lawyer and get a preview of those
Notes From The Peanut Gallery, and see all other noteworthy bloggers from the society’s various sectors. up:

solb! Oh yeah, I just read your interview with
McVie. Man, with your “straight-but-not-narrow” (familiar with one of those openmind web cliques?) aura and the Warm Bodies endeavor, I’ll soon see you sharing the spotlight with Dean, Connie, and the rest. But before you reach the summit, could you please customize a “prepossessing” template for my blog?
Tutal you’re giving yourself a 3-year changeover into the creative arena,

I felt bad that
Silver Ginn couldn’t make it because he felt sick this morning. Dude (and I’m calling you dude!!!), I’m starting to speculate about your whereabouts these past few nights. Not enough vitamins…
Oh, my back really aches. I’ve been pounding my keyboard for the past couple of hours while I park myself uncomfortably over this low stool. I blame it on the loose phone lines that don’t work
kaya I need to connect to those ports adjacent to the not so portable furniture. So I'll go now and rip some
Sade music. =)

Ang init!
Music Played on my background: Have A Cry – Kina, 1983- John Mayer ...Feels good that it’s three-day weekend for most corporate slaves like myself. I get to do a lot of stuff that I don’t even get the chance to plan on a regular workday. So over the past three days, I saw three films on DVD –
Million-Dollar Baby, Training day, and
Love Actually. I won’t do a critique for I am probably the only movie-freak who hasn’t seen these movies. Well just to reaffirm that all great elements are combined in the films. You might ask what these are…
ah basta yun na yun!!!
Anyway, I’ve gone impulse buying lately, and I can’t believe I’ve spent that much for a pair of low-rise jeans (unbelievably priced over a thousand for an F&H!), a bag, a denim belt, three pairs of ankle socks, and 2 pairs of hipster undies. I don’t usually spend this much, and would normally have the patience to scavenge through the “on-sale” items in shambles at some local department store, but this time I didn’t care much. I’m a sucker for really fine designs, and I’m so happy to have located this shop at SM Fairview (yeah, our mall in the neighborhood), and it sells nice men’s clothing, kind of similar to the ones displayed at Tyler in Glorietta, but probably 10 to 15 percent off the latter’s tag. And so delighted to have found
Gola shoes there! Yayness, as my friends would verbalize!! =) Oh by the way, they call it
2B. I was supposed to buy more stuff on sale, but I didn’t have enough cash, then. I hurriedly took this handsome sling bag from the display to the counter, and in two shakes, am poorer by a thousand and two hundred seventy five bucks. Heck! It’s a good investment for
Porma’s sake…hehe! Planning to buy few more stuff during the week – a couple of nice-looking long-sleeved shirts (for the market visit
dahil off
muna sa casual attire kse kelangan kagalang-galang daw sa mga Hapon.) and a pair of black leather shoes.
Sana lang merong okay na mura sa Linea or
sa 2B.
Bahala na. up:
gucci bagsOh divine providence! It’s a blistering 34.7 degrees (‘C)! I’m still blessed that I can still endure the intense heat. I’d love to experience such, but only when I’m at the beach soaking up the sun, and enjoying the waters and the bodies (hehe!) Experiencing summer heat in the house normally results to prickly heat, excessive sweating, and an irritable mom.
San ka pa? Planning for some social and commercial comings and goings for this week and the next gets in the way of my setting off for the beach. But I won’t let the summer pass without making it to San Juan, Batangas. By all means…=)
Oh
sya, I’m really hungry. Time for some food-stuffing.
***
After a hearty late late late lunch…
I need to make a write-up revolving around the theme of “Change.” I can’t think of a good one. Care to suggest for one?
***
It’s my mission to experiment on mixing sauces, herbs, and spices for the tri-colore pasta and prepare a specially concocted daiquiri. I better browse Amy’s Cookbook to get nice food preparation ideas. Instinctively, I may have a calling for the culinary arts, so
karirin na! hehe!
